NY Times Bestseller List

The New York Times Bestseller List is certainly not a good indicator of quality books. My current leisure reading book, Under the Tuscan Sun, is completely inane. The movie is even worse. Anyway, I have my own list of books/authors that are worthy of reading:

MY LIST

edmund wilson
on the road
anna karenina
the brother’s karamozov
atlas shrugged, the fountainhead
george soros!
thomas aquinas, locke

I should probably stick to reading The New Yorker to hear about worthy literature. Under the Tuscan Sun is the most horrible piece of writing I have ever encountered, and a desparate attempt at a travelogue at best.

A Sib of the Trib

I’ve never really been one to read newspapers on a daily basis, but I think it’s a good practice. The New York Times seems to have a pretty good reputation and has provided me with useful information, but I’ve been reading Red Eye a lot lately. Yes, the articles are pared down for easy reading, and the entire paper is printed in full color, but those are not reasons to criticize it. Some news is better than no news!!
